Citdel Layer paints are typically thinner than "Base" paints. Experienced painters may thin them even further to ensure an even application. Layer paints are useful as base coats, highlights, and as a drydrush. Note that if you are able to see through sections of the paint--for example, if you are able to see grey plastic through a red layer--do not panic, and give it another layer when it dries.
